The Mad Hatter

The Daring Cardmakers challenge this week is 'The Book Club' and to take inspiration from a book, either a character, an excerpt or even as a background. This is what I came up with:

My boys love the Mad Hatter so managed to source this image from The Graphics Fairy. These aren't my usual colours but I needed to make some more male cards, I have far too many pink ones!

Supplies used: Card/Paper - MME Lush, MME Vintage Dots
Image - The Mad Hatter from The Graphics Fairy
Ribbon - Ivory lace and Walnut seam binding from the ribbon reel

Other - Prima flowers, Vintage Photo Distress Ink

Spring is here...

Well we are now officially in Spring and the nights are at last getting lighter. We went for a walk along the river at the weekend and the boys were pointing out all the new buds that were appearing on the trees and plants. So I decided to make a Spring card and joined in week #55 Flower Palette over at The Shabby Tea Room and also my first time joining in at the Creative Cottage Challenge blog with their Spring has Sprung challenge. I was totally out of my comfort zone making this spring inspired card but just went with it.

Supplies used:

Card/Paper - Websters Pages Plant & Nuture, Qwirky Twerp Sugar Blossom
Graphics - Bird images from The Graphics Fairy
Flowers - Prima and Cherry Blossom flowers
Ribbon - Satin Pleat Pink and Leaf Trim from
the ribbon reel

Going Postal

The Daring Cardmakers challenge this week is Going Postal!

Postage stamps are an up and coming trend in the crafting world so I thought this week it would be fun to have cards incorporating them! Real (postage) stamps, die cuts, hand cut, rubber stamps or even punched ones. Cards for any occasion but they must have a postage stamp somewhere!

Here's my card!

Supplies used:
Cardstock / Paper - MME Paper, Basic Grey and AWIP Love Kit
Ribbon / Twine - Airmail twine from the ribbon reel
Other - Handmade clay heart button, Prima flowers

Party Time & Homebaked

It feels like I haven't made any cards for ages what with all the other little projects I have on the go at the moment. I really wanted to join in The Shabby Tea Room and Daring Cardmakers challenges this week and have just made it!

The Shabby Tea Room are celebrating their 1st Birthday and the challenge for week #53 was 'Party Time'. Clare asks that you design a CARD, BANNER and/or GIFT with a BIRTHDAY OR CELEBRATION THEME!

The Daring Cardmakers challenge this week is 'Homebaked'. You have to create at least one of your own embellishments for your card and thats it, nice and simple! I made my first clay buttons this week and love how the hearts turned out. I coloured it with Promarkers light pink.

Supplies used:
Paper/Card - MME Alphabet Soup
Stamps - PTI Baby Button Bits
Ribbon / Twine - Orange bakers twine and bay leaf seam binding from the ribbon reel
Other - handmade clay button, Prima flowers, button from the ribbon reel

Honorable Mention @ The Shabby Tea Room!

I'm so excited, I got an honorable mention for my card over at The Shabby Team Room for week #52 Luck of the Irish.

The cards that are entered into the weekly challenges are always gorgeous, from both the Shabby Team Girls and the participants and feel quite 'honored' to be recognised. Thank you so much - made my day!

'Luck of the Irish'

I've not found much time of late to join in any challenges and so misses it. If only there were more hours in the day right?

Well I thought I'd see what challenge was over at The Shabby Tea Room this week and the challenge for week #52 was 'Luck of the Irish'. So I was trying to think of something for St Patricks Day but was not getting very far, then I realised I just needed to use something 'green'. So this is what I came up with.

I used Trendy Trees images and Kraft paper from Pink Petticoat - I so love their shop! Dotty paper is by MME, chalk white seam binding, button and bakers twine from The Ribbon Reel.
