Butterfly

I managed to grab a few minutes to myself this morning and decided to make a few cards. I sometimes try too hard putting my cards together and am never fully satisfied with how they end up. Today, I tried to think less about what I was creating and just go with the flow.

So here is one of the cards that I put together this morning...

I used one of my new Darkroom Door butterfly stamps and inked with fresh snow and stamped onto kraft cardstock. Unfortunately I decided to add some glitter after I'd cut around the image which by this time the ink had almost dried, so its not quite as sparkly as I had wanted, but I still absolutely love it!

LinkI wanted to use some wide ribbon and chose this ivory silky crush ribbon and tied into a large bow.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

DCM Flutterby.....

Well, its my first time setting the dare over at Daring Cardmakers this week and I choose the inspiration photo below and asked that you use the colours from the photo and include butterflies!

Link

Here is my card:

I had an idea in my head how I wanted my card to go but, as usual, I started and it evolved in to something else. I decided to keep the card very light and keep the colours to a minimum.

I used a spellbinders die to create the frame and added various tea roses and rose buds to the centre, as well as adding a couple of diamante style pins. To complete the card, I added some pink satin pleat ribbon, white lace and raffia.

I hope everyone enjoys the challenge this week, I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with. So pop over to the Daring Cardmakers to check out the rest of my teamies cards.

DCM 'August Flowers'

It's the 2nd day of September and the first dare of the new month so we're looking to the flowers associated with September for our card-making inspiration at Daring Cardmakers, they are:

Asters and Morning Glory

I chose to create some beautiful pink asters and here is my card:

The asters were surprisingly tricky to create, as I kept cutting the petals too long and snipping the flowers in half, but I got there in the end!

I have been waiting to use my new Little Musings 'little jar of' stamps for ages and thought the jar would work perfectly with my little asters. I was desperate to use more ribbons on this card but think the simple scallop lace was enough.

Don't forget to take a look at the rest of the Daring Cardmakers DT stunning cards!

Supplies used:
Cardstock: MME Blush, Bazzill
Stamps: WMS Roses in Bloom, Little Musings Clear Stamp Set - LITTLE JAR OF from the ribbon reel
Lace: 16mm Scallop Lace Cream from the ribbon reel
Other: Distress Ink Antique Linen, Memento Summer Sky
, green wire from paper roses
