DCM 'Wishi Washi'

I've had such a busy week and so pleased its Friday at long last, which also means another challenge over at Daring Cardmakers. This week is Jo's turn and she has chosen...

Wishi Washi

Jo would like you to make a card using Washi or Deco Tape, you can use it to create a background, embellishment or just use it as an accent.

Here's my card....

I looked everywhere for my pink washi tape but it seems to have disappeared! Instead I used some yellow washi tape just behind the pink lace.

I love my new Gorjuss 'Little Heart' image, although really must look for some good priced Promarkers soon!

I don't think I've used flowers on a card for an age, so added a sweet tea rose, cherry blossom. mini roses and rose buds. I added some beautiful pink lace over the top of the washi tape.

Don't forget to check out the DT 'Wishi Washi' cards!

Supplies used:
Cardstock - MME Love Me from The Ribbon Reel
Image - Gorjuss 'Little Heart' from The Ribbon Reel
Ribbon - Pink Lace from The Ribbon Reel
Flowers - Selection of roses, buds and leaves from The Ribbon Reel
Other - Washi tape and pearls from stash

DYSU #56 - Ribbons

Another Thursday and another fantastic challenge at DYSU. This week the challenge is 'RIBBONS'.

Some of the design team were able to play with some cute digi images from Crafty Sentiments and here is what I created with mine....

This sweet 'Valentines Bear' image from Crafty Sentiments was coloured with my very limited number of Promarkers, although the shading looks much better in real life!

I decided to add a little Glamour Dust to the white spots of the mushroom and ink the edges with Distress Ink. The sentiment is from Waltzingmouse Stamps and I finished with a seam binding bow in a gorgeous 'melon' colour.

This image is so cute and could be used for so many different cards but I opted for a 'you are missed' sentiment.

Our sponsors this week are...

The Stamping Boutique - Winners choice of 5 images

Dearie Dolls - Winners choice of 4 image

The Ribbon Reel - £10 Gift Voucher

TRR Challenge #20 New Year, New Start

Welcome friends to another fun fortnightly challenge at The Ribbon Reel. Zuzana is our fab host for this week and has chosen the theme.....

'New Year, New Start'

...and ask that you create a card /project with your
NEW YEARS RESOLUTION and RIBBONS/TWINE and a BUTTON.

Here is my card....

That challenge definitely got me thinking as I hadn't really set myself any resolutions for this year. However, something I am always trying to improve on is being more organised.

I do like to keep busy and always seem to give myself too many things to do in a day! So the sentiment I printed off seemed to fit well.

My aim this year is to keep my 'to do' lists short so that I feel I have actually achieved something at the end of the day. At the end of the day, there are only 24 hours in a day and you can only get done what you can!

Thank for looking in this week and if you feel like a challenge and sharing your resolution(s), please check out the rest of the DT's fabulous cards and join in!

Here is my card....

This was such a super challenge from Zuzana, I had lots of ideas but couldn't get them to work.

I settled for a Twitter theme card, and as we all talk about our 'tweets', used this in the sentiment 'home tweet home'. I opted for a fairly simple card, I'm enjoying making these type at the moment.

DCM - Monthly Colour Combo#1

This week at Daring Cardmakers we have the very first in our brand new "First Friday" series. Over the last couple of years we've used Birthstones and Flowers for these challenges, and they've both been interesting and inspiring themes to work with. For 2012 the First Friday of each month will feature a

Colour Combo Challenge

We're all taking a turn choosing a combination of colours to base our card-making around so there should be
a fab variety of hues and tones to get us creating. We hope you'll enjoy the idea and feel inspired to join in with us!

Fran is kicking off this new series in style with a fab inspiration photo and colour palette.

Here is my card (apologies for the very dark photo but there has been much natural daylight this week!)....

I just love MME and the Lost & Found sets but I find it difficult to use as I never want to cover up the little details, so instead I've turned it around and decided to make the little train part of the main card.

LinkMy sentiment hasn't photographed very well and the blue ink is much brighter in real life. I added a couple of buttons and twine to complete my labels with some gorgeous organic cotton ribbon and scallop trim underneath.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the DCM DT gorgeous creations.

Supplies used:
Cardstock - MME Lost & Found Breeze from the ribbon reel
Ribbon - Light Blue Organic Cotton ribbon, Natural button twine from the ribbon reel
Stamps - WMS Fancy Phrases set
Other - Buttons

DYSU #53 Let It Snow

I can at last share with you that I have been invited to join the Do You Stack Up Challenge Blog. How exciting, the girls are just the best. So if you are in need of some super inspiration or fancy a new challenge.....come over and visit us and say hi! So on to my first challenge on the DT.

Our challenge at Do You Stack Up? this week is 'LET IT SNOW'.

Our lovely sponsors are:

Robyn's Fetish - Winners Choice of EITHER 5 digital or 4 digital stamps and 1 paper pack

Meljen's - Winners Choice of 4 images

Crafter's Companion - The Boxer and Envelobox Creator Bundle with Advanced Techniques DVD

Here's my card...

I think this was probably my third attempt at putting a card together for this challenge. For some reason, I seem to struggle with snow theme cards. I suddenly remembered I had some beautiful chipboard snowflakes which I have been meaning to use for some time.

I layered the two snowflakes together on top of a nesties label and small paper doily. My selection of thank you cards need topping up so I added a 'Christmas Thank You' sentiment from PTI. The boys had such a fabulous Christmas and so many wonderful presents so I need to start sending our thanks to everyone.

Supplies used:
Cardstock - Basic Grey Kraft, Fancy Pants
Stamps - PTI Christmas Signature Set
Ribbons - 10mm Light Blue Velvet Ribbon and 22mm White Crochet Lace
Other - Snowflake Chipboard and Paper Doily from stash
