It's very p-interesting!

Happy Friday everyone! That means that there is a new dare over at the Daring Cardmakers and this week is Nat's turn to dare. As the title suggests we're looking to Pinterest for some inspiration!

If you don't know what Pinterest is, check out the blurb here for more info. We want to spread some Pinterest love this week - because the joy of Pinterest is discovering new sources of inspiration!

So the dare this week is to create a card using a "pin" for inspiration. We want to see what inspired your creation so make sure you include the original "pin" (ideally using the handy Embed feature that appears to the right of the image on Pinterest) alongside your card project in your blog post. If you're not a member of Pinterest you can still play along - you can either browse/search Pinterest for inspiration and still embed the "pin" in your blog post or simply share whatever pic you have used as inspiration for your card. Either way please remember to give credit where credit's due.

Here is the pin I chose as inspiration:

Source: etsy.com via Keilly on Pinterest

and this is what I created:

I was inspired by the colours in this photo. It depicts underwater life as it would have been a few thousand years ago. The 'flowers' pictured are actually sculpted representations of Crinoids aka Sea Lilies, beautiful marine invertebrates (spineless animals) related to starfish and sea urchins.

I didn't have any flowers the same colour as the photo so I used a 40mm white rose and a 25mm Hybrid Tea Rose and spritzed with Crushed Shells then Peach Delight Glimmer Mist. After water spraying my seam binding, I lightly covered with the Crushed Shells, scrunched and let it air dry before tying it into a double bow.

Remember to check out the Design Team's blogs so you can see what pics inspired their cards!

Supplies used:
Cardstock - Prima Botanical,
AWIP Village Fair Digi Papers
Stamps - WMS Say It Loud, WMS Holiday Labels 14,
Ribbons - Ivory Crochet Lace, Iced Lime Seam Binding from
the ribbon reel
Flowers - 40mm White Rose and 25mm White Hybrid tea rose from the ribbon reel
Other - Nesties, Black Staz On, Glimmer Mist Crushed Shells and Peach Delight, Green Leaf Pins from here

TFL!
