DCM Patterned Paper Mania

We have a fab new challenge over at Daring Cardmakers this week.  It's Leo setting the dare which is...

Patterned Paper Mania

....and asks that you use a minimum of 6 patterned papers on your cards.

Here's my card....

The trickiest part was adding the papers, I don't know how many times I had to keep moving them around and re-counting them!  I managed to get 4 papers on the card which looked okay but cheated a little and added 2 tiny strips of paper to the top of my card, underneath the cream resin flower.

I used Promakers to colour my sweet fairy image from A Day for Daisies and used a large nestie die to cut it out.  I'm still perfecting my colouring skills and trying to find the best paper/card to use but these images are such a joy to work with, I could practice all day!

Supplies used:
Cardstock - CC Tea for Two from The Ribbon Reel
Image - Lady Bug Nymph from A Day for Daisies
Ribbon - Natural Crochet Lace from The Ribbon Reel
Other - Nesties, Promarkers, Cream Dahlia Flower from The Ribbon Reel

TRR Challenge #31 Let's Have Tea

We have another fabulous challenge over at The Ribbon Reel Challenge Blog this week.  It's Debbie's turn to host this week and she has chosen this fab inspiration photo....

...and ask that you create a card / project using the COLOURS in the photo USING a 'TEA ELEMENT', FLOWERS plus LACE or RIBBON!
I'm a little behind posting my card this week.  We have lots going on here at the moment, the shop is keeping me very busy and we are decorating our home, getting it ready to (hopefully) put it on the market soon.  I can't wait.  Quietly wishing we'll find somewhere that I can have a little crafty corner of my own.

Here's my card...

Such beautiful colours to play with this week.  As soon as Debbie chose a tea element for this challenge, I knew I'd have to use my WMS Afternoon Tea Sentiments Stamps.

The border is stamped using an oval classic frame which I added a few pink self adhesive pearls to, before stamping the sentiment.  I tucked a purple doily die cut behind the sentiment and a couple of purple cherry blossoms - I do love these flowers!  The cup from the same set was stamped onto MME Love Me Pink Doily paper, hand cut stuck with a few foam dots to give the card more depth.

I added some natural crochet lace and lilac seam binding to the base of the card and finally an ivory tea rose.

Supplies used:
Cardstock - MME Love Me from The Ribbon Reel, Basic Grey Kraft
Stamps - WMS Classic Oval Frames, WMS Afternoon Tea Sentiments
Ribbon - Natural Crochet Lace and Lilac Seam Binding from The Ribbon Reel
Flowers - Light Violet Cherry Blossoms and Ivory Tea Rose from The Ribbon Reel
Other - Nesties, Candy Pink Self Adhesive Pearls from The Ribbon Reel

DCM 'A Hole in One'

It's Friday and that can only mean we have a new challenge at Daring Cardmakers.  This week it's Samm's turn to set the dare and has chosen...

'A Hole in One'

This week Samm wants us to use our punches and die cuts in the reverse, so don't use the cut out, use the part that is left, the hole!

Here is my card....

I had lots of ideas for this one but settled for using my much loved PTI Butterfly Die as my 'hole'!

I decided to use kraft to punch out my butterflies and contrast it with a bright summery yellow paper from MME underneath.  The sentiment from WMS fits perfectly.

I added some scallop lace and yellow raffia to the bottom of the card, and this sweet dahlia resin flower.

Love how quick and simple this card was to create and how beautiful if turned out.

Supplies used:
Cardstock - Kraft, MME
Ribbons - Yellow Raffia and Ivory Scallop Lace from The Ribbon Reel
Die - PTI Butterfly
Sentiment - Compact Sentiments from WMS
Flower - Small Dahlia Resin Flower from The Ribbon Reel

TRR Challenge #30

Welcome friends to another fun fortnightly challenge! It's my turn to host this week and I've chosen this fab inspiration photo.....

...and ask that you create a card / project using the COLOURS from the inspiration photo

plus RIBBON and/or LACE!

Here's my card.....

I had a go at using more layers, it really doesn't come naturally.  I wanted to add some stitching, which I think would have really finished the card but unfortunately my sewing machine is poorly!  So I just had to go with sticking the papers down instead.

I layered a paper doily over a kraft tag and added a journalling card from CC's Tea for Two.  The dimensional Life is Sweet sentiment fits perfectly with this colour combo.  The roses and cherry blossom help hide the little punch hole in the top of the journalling card!

I added a little pink spotty washi tape over a ticket.  The chipboard rose adds a little dimension.  And not forgetting this beautiful pink stripe twill ribbon.

Supplies used:
Cardstock - CC Tea for Two Paper Pad from The Ribbon Reel
Ribbon - 20mm Pink Stripe Twill from The Ribbon Reel
Flowers - 25mm Red Roses and Red Cherry Blossom from The Ribbon Reel
Other - CC Tea for Two Journalling Tag, Paper Doily, MME Indie Chic Washi Tape, CC Tea for Two Chipboard Rose, CC Tea for Two Stacked Sticker - all from The Ribbon Reel, Kraft Tag and Jenny Bowlin Baby Girl Printed Ticket from stash

DCM June Colour Combo Challenge

This week it's the return of our monthly colour dare at Daring Cardmakers and I'm sure our UK visitors can guess what colours Nat has chosen! :)

Yes, in honour of the upcoming festivities going on this weekend to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee the colours Nat has chosen are Red, White, and Blue. Well it was hard not to... as they are everywhere at the moment. :)

Here's a gorgeous pic as inspiration showing just how lovely this colour combo can be in various shades and hues:

Here is my card...

I love these chipboard banners from Fancy Pants and knew that my red, white, blue card would have to include these.  They looked quite plain so I added some airmail bakers twine, buttons and small off white roses.

I layered up some papers from MME and Cosmo Cricket's Tea for Two set, added a large strip of blue/white grosgrain ribbon, which I folded in half and cut diagonally to create the fork.  The sentiment is from WMS and I found this red flower I had made from a zip a while ago in my stash.  I just added a small red rose to the centre, tucked a couple of green leaf pins and a simple white satin bow.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the Design Team's cards.

Supplies used:
Cardstock - MME and Cosmo Cricket Tea for Two from The Ribbon Reel
Stamp - Sentiment from WMS
Chipboard - Banners and Heart from Fancy Pants
Other - Leaf Pins from The Ribbon Reel, Buttons, Roses and Zip from stash
