We were house bound today, as the boys school was closed due to the strikes regarding pensions, and I'd arranged for an engineer to arrive to fix our phone line, so we had some festive fun making a few things.
Oscar wanted to make some decorations for his school classroom and he put these cute snowmen together all by himself, even punched the sizzix snowmen dies!
Then we had a go at making a hanging bauble decoration, Oscar again cut the die shapes and stuck on the little red gems, mummy only helped with sticking it together and adding the satin bow!
I wanted to have a play around with some gift wrapping and this gorgeous WMS Holiday Ornaments stamp set was perfect. I created this gorgeous bow from a length of White Silky Crush ribbon, securing the tag and this cute jingle bell with red button twine.
Using the WMS Holiday Ornaments stamp set again, I wrapped a length of Red Satin ribbon around the gift tying a bow at the front, securing the tag and this tiny red bauble with red button twine.
Finally, I wanted to share these sweet little tags. I had an order to create some personalised jars so they can be filled and given as teacher presents at Christmas. I love how they turned out!
I usually make these type of jars up for the boys teacher presents and am considering have a go at making chocolate fudge to put in them!! Never made fudge before and may never make it again but will attempt some tomorrow - will share photos!

DCM Water, Water, Everywhere!
This weeks challenge at Daring Cardmakers is hosted by Samm and she has chosen the theme
WATER
You could make a card with a watery theme (lakes, rivers, fishies, boats etc), or maybe you'll find a way to actually use some water in the making of your card e.g., colouring with watercolours.

I decided to reach for my PTI stamps for this challenge and use this cute little ' AHOY Little Sailor' sentiment and boat image.
I can never get enough of using seam binding on my projects, it just seems to work with most of the cards I create.
I couldn't resist a bit of bunting on this card and used this adorable die from Taylored Expressions.
Don't forget to check out the beautiful DT cards over at Daring Cardmakers.
Supplies used:
Cardstock - MME Lost & Found 2 'Breeze' from the ribbon reel
Stamps - PTI
Ribbon - Chalk White Seam Binding and Ivory Button Twine from the ribbon reel
Other - Wooden button from stash, Nesties

DCM Bejewelled
Sharon is hosting a fab challenge over at the Daring Cardmakers this week. The dare is to use a piece of jewellery as your inspiration. It could be the colour, the stone or even the design.
I'm not a huge jewellery wearer so thought I'd take a look over on Pinterest for my inspiration. There are just so many gorgeous photos to choose from but I managed to choose this one...
and here is my card.....
I used the cameo and colours as my inspiration.
I created this cameo from a mould I bought from Etsy. I decided to paint this one pink to match the photo. I layered some PTI circles and added some ivory pearls under the cameo.
I used some ivory crochet lace and pink velvet ribbon underneath my scrunchy bow! The seam binding is chalk white but I sprayed http://www.blogger.com/post-create.g?blogID=9206530018705204758with Glimmer Mist to create a more aged / vintage look. I then tied this cute little 'Hello' tag to the underside of my bow.
I really enjoyed creating this card and love how it has turned out.
Challenges
My Mums Craft Shop - #31 Sugar and Spice
Deep Ocean Challenge Blog - #12 Vintage
Tuesday Throwdown - #74 Favourite Colour Combo
Creative Inspirations Paint - Anything Goes
2 Sisters Challenge - #64 Ribbon

Supplies used:
Cardstock - EP Victoria Gardens, MME Lost & Found 2
Ribbons - 10mm Pink Velvet, 16mm Natural Crochet Lace, Chalk White Seam Binding, Pink Button Twine
Flowers - Pale Pink Gardenia, 25mm Rosy Pink Tea Roses

DCM - Chrysanthemums for our Birthday!
Last week's dare was Dare No 52 of Year 5 of Daring Cardmakers challenges - yes, we've been around THAT long! And we still enjoy setting the dares and making our cards. A Huge THANK YOU to all of you who pop in week by week to see what we're up to, and especially to those of you who join in with our challenges - we really do appreciate your support.
The DT members may have changed but our aims remain the same - to inspire and challenge you (and ourselves) to make cards, no matter what your style and no matter what your experience is. We remain open to all, have no allegiance to any company and we actively encourage as much variety as possible - we definitely do not judge one card above another so when we offer prizes winners are always chosen at random.
For our first dare of year 6 it's a return to our year-long celebration of flowers associated with each month. According to our list there is just one flower for November and it's the
Chrysanthemum.
We hope you'll join in and celebrate our DCM "New Year" with us by making your own Chrysanthemum inspired card and sharing it with us. We're looking forward to seeing what you make - they should make a wonderful Birthday Bouquet!
Here's my card...
I am still perfecting these felt chrysanthemums but love the simplicity of them. A rather pink card to match the flower!
Don't forget to check out the rest of the design teams beautiful cards.
Supplies used:
Cardstock - MME Dwell
Stamps - WMS Say it Loud and WMS Roses in Bloom
Ribbons - 16mm Natural Crochet Lace and 3mm Pink Velvet ribbon from the ribbon reel
Other - Watercolour pencils
